Shorty has proudly resided in the Somerset County community for 17 years. Prior to this, the owner resided in the Pittsburgh area. A foodie at heart, she is involved with private and public catering events, hoping to offer something different and fresh for all to enjoy. 

With her culinary background and training in Pittsburgh, the owner purchased this local restaurant, intending to revitalize the location for both locals and visitors to enjoy.

Head Chef, Austin, attended Somerset Vo-Tech for Culinary Training. He has been in restaurant kitchens since he was 16 years old.  With his culinary skills and experience, he has help develop menu item unique to Shorty's. 

The historical gas station was moved from Old Lincoln Highway in Stonycreek Township to the current Route 30 location in Shade Township during the 1930's to allow for a neighborhood bar.  Stonycreek Township was dry so they picked her up and moved her across the street into Shade Township.   

The location has now expanded to include a full-service restaurant. Shorty's already completed renovations provide a fresh upscale casual restaurant and bar. We will expand in the future to offer fine dining options, entertainment, and the ability to accommodate larger groups once the previous banquet room is ready for use.
